Installation Problems
| 1. | Why I can't install VCam to my PC? VCam supports 32 bits Win2000/WinXP/Win2003/VISTA, and need DirectX 8.0 or higher. Administrator privilege is needed to install VCam. |
| 2. | Can't wrok properly after installing a new version of VCam? Please be sure to uninstall old version of VCam first (reboot if needed) then install the new one. |
| 1. | Why some kinds of video can't be added to VCam? VCam is based on DirectShow architecture, so in theory, if you have installed the right codec and let the video can be played by Windows Media Player, VCam is able to play it as well. VCam supports common video formats (*.avi; *.dat; *.vbr; *.mpeg; *.mpg; *,mp1; *.mp2; *.vob; *.wmv; *.asf; *.rm; *.rmvb; *.mov; *.3gp; *.mp4; *.mkv; *.flv ...). If some video in your pc can't be played by VCam, please install the right codecs, such as XP-Codec-Pack/VISTA-Codec-Pack, K-Lite, ffdshow or StormCodec; Installing DirectX 9.0 or higher version is highly recommended. |
| 2. | Why there's no sound when playing WMV files? Reinstall Windows Media Player. |
Program Play Problems
| 1. | How to reduce the CPU usage when playing? (1) Don's check the "Show the" (source video or processed video) item in Options; (2) Set "Default video size" in Options to the right one you need such as 176 x144; (3) Launch the application which will use VCam and open e2eCap webcam in it first, then launch VCam; (4) Close special effects; (5) Do not use video/text overlay effects. |
| 2. | How to let my friend hear the sound of video file when use VCam for video chatting? VCam only handles video, it just play the audio of video files on local pc, if you want to let your friend hearing the audio, you may: (1) Open the audio mix function of your sound card: Double click the speaker icon in system tray, open volume control -> Options -> Properties -> Recording -> choose Wave Out Mix or Stereo Mix -> OK; (2) Adjust the volume higher, and put your MIC near by your speaker, ^_^ (3) Install a virtual audio device and set it as the default audio device in VCam (program page in Options dialog) |
| 1. | Why my PC is very slow when doing screen capture? also with high CPU usage? You may use a lower capture frame rate when capturing, which can be set in Options dialog. The default value of it is 15, you can set it to 5 for example. |
| 2. | Why some window (such as a video play window) can't be captured? The captured image is black! (1) You need to close OS's hardware acceleration, method: Right click on desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Hardware acceleration, set it to "None" will be OK! Note that you'd better change it back after screen capture finished. (2) Run "Microsoft Net meeting" and try again! |
| 3. | How to save the captured video to a video file? Use record function of VCam. |
Registration Problems
| 1. | Can old serial no be used in new version? Yes, VCam is free upgrade. |
| 2. | Is the serial no only valid for one PC? Will reinstallation make it invalid? Yes. The register method of VCam is similar with WinXP, and one serial no can only be used for one PC. Serial no is still valid after reinstallation of OS. But it will be invalid if you change your hardware: (1) CPU; (2) Network adapter or MAC address. If registered user upgrade his PC, after authentication he can have a new serial no freely, and the old one will be cancelled. |
